The companies' own announcements
Every partnership links to where it was announced: a company newsroom or blog, a press release on a wire service, or a partner program page. Dates are the announcement dates on those pages. Nothing is taken from rumours or unnamed sources.
What counts
A public, named commercial tie between two or more companies. Customers buying a product, government contracts and research grants are left out. Each partnership has one of eight types:
- Technology integration: one product built into another.
- Go-to-market: joint selling, resale and distribution.
- Cloud marketplace: listed and sold through a cloud marketplace.
- Strategic alliance: broad, multi-year commitments, often compute.
- Co-development: building a product or chip together.
- Investment and partnership: an equity stake that comes with a commercial deal.
- OEM: one company's product shipped inside another's.
- Model distribution: aI models offered on another platform.
Status
- Announced: announced, not yet shown to be in use.
- Live: the product or integration is available.
- Expanded: an existing partnership that grew.
- Ended: wound down or replaced.
Refresh
Every weekday (Monday to Friday) at 07:15 UTC a run reads company newsroom feeds, the fixed ones and those it has found on registry companies, and a few news searches, fetches the candidate pages, and asks a model to pull out partnerships from the text it was given. Those rows carry an Unverified badge until they are checked by hand. Research passes add partnerships read one by one on the companies' own newsrooms, blogs and investor pages; they are marked checked, keep their sources, and never count as new growth.
Companies
Company names, domains and slugs come from the shared fru.dev company registry at companies.fru.dev, so a company page here links to the same company on other fru.dev sites.
Closing the gaps
Every registry company except event and community organisers is in scope, and each one without a checked partnership stays enrolled as a candidate. Each run probes a few candidates for a newsroom feed (reading robots.txt first and stopping at a refusal), reads the feeds found so far in turn, and spends one of its searches on the next candidate, the bellwethers first. Coverage above is rebuilt after every run.
